Residential Discipleship

The greatest narrative illustrating breaking the cycle of poverty and addiction is the Biblical story. Jesus Christ was born to a poor family, hung out with the outcast was subjected to an unjust trial and died a cruel death. But, in his willingness to give his life as payment for our sins the chains of poverty, addiction and shame are broken.

Cross Generational Ministries is called to make disciples which enjoy the benefits of knowing God and do great exploits.

Intervening Grace

Tim grew up hearing and enjoying the stories about the heroes of faith in the Bible, but lacking understanding these were broken men and women. Timothy Keller in his book “Making Sense of God” says this “the bible is not primarily a series of stories with a moral, though there are plenty of practical lessons. Rather, it is a record of God’s intervening grace in the lives of people who don’t seek it, who don’t deserve it, who continually resist it, and who don’t appreciate it after they have been saved by it”.

This is our story and if you are a Christ follower it is your story as well. God’s grace is so profound and the gospel story is such good news. We desire to share this good news with those who are in the grip of some kind of bondage; addiction, poverty stricken, homeless and broken. Mt. 28:19-20 calls Christ followers to make disciples. At CGM (Cross Generational Ministries) we believe God is giving us the opportunity to create Christ centered residential discipleship homes that reach the broken in our society.

CGM’s Residential Home

The first CGM Residential house will be the first of a community of homes we trust God to establish. Initially, we will invite those seeking freedom in Christ to join a 3-year program – 18 months in a residential setting and 18 months follow up. In the first 18 months, our hope is to establish a foundation in Christ for true and lasting freedom. In a “family like” atmosphere we will teach, love and train disciples to know God, experience His grace and learn to be a Christ follower. Staff and volunteers will love, mentor, teach and provide opportunities for employment.

We invite you to join us! How can you help? Our desire is to raise the needed finances to staff the residential discipleship home. Steve Robinson will be the Director of Discipleship. We invite you to give to CGM and support Steve.

Secondly, we are looking to rent/purchase a home to launch this expansion of CGM. In addition, we want to raise funds for utilities, food and program expenses. CGM is a 501C3 organization and your gifts are tax deductible. If you want to be involved or have more questions please email Tim timchapmancgm@gmail.com or Steve steverobinsoncgm@gmail.com.
